Filmmaker Benneth Nwankwo Heads to Federal High Court Over YouTube Piracy, Urges Other Nollywood Filmmakers to Start Suing Content Thieves
In a Facebook post, Nigerian filmmaker Benneth Nwankwo revealed he has filed a Motion on Notice at the Federal High Court in Awka under the Copyright Act 2022, after a YouTube channel allegedly reuploaded his film using a stolen thumbnail and title. Benneth is urging other Nigerian filmmakers to pursue legal action against YouTube piracy rather than just talk about it.
